Bengaluru: In a significant move to strengthen India’s deep-tech innovation and industrial infrastructure, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), led a senior delegation to the K-Tech MeitY Nasscom Centre of Excellence for IoT and AI in Bengaluru.
The visit highlighted the Centre’s pivotal role in fostering India’s digital and industrial transformation through cutting-edge technologies and robust startup ecosystems.
K-Tech MeitY Nasscom Centre of Excellence for IoT and AI: Deep-Tech Innovation Hub
The K-Tech MeitY Nasscom Centre of Excellence for IoT and AI is India’s largest deep-tech innovation hub, built to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, Big Data, Machine Learning, Robotics, and AR/VR.
The K-Tech MeitY Nasscom Centre of Excellence for IoT and AI serves as a collaborative platform uniting startups, enterprises, academia, and policymakers to drive real-world solutions across key sectors including manufacturing, smart cities, logistics, and healthcare.

During the visit to K-Tech MeitY Nasscom Centre of Excellence for IoT and AI, Secretary Bhatia, accompanied by Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO & MD of National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), senior officials from DPIIT, and the Head of Startup India, engaged with deep-tech startup founders and incubation leaders.
Discussions centered on identifying critical policy support, strengthening the innovation pipeline, and driving scalable growth through national programs.
Review of Tumakuru Industrial Area Under NICDP
Following the startup engagement, Secretary Bhatia conducted an extensive review of the Tumakuru Industrial Area, a key project under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP).
The review focused on Phase A development covering 1,736 acres, internal infrastructure progress including roads, drainage, and utilities, and key readiness parameters for investor allotments.
The delegation met with Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor, and HaskoningDHV, the Project Management Consultant (PMC). L&T assured timely completion of major deliverables, enabling land allocation to industries by the end of 2025.

Bhatia emphasized the importance of meeting project milestones on schedule while upholding global quality benchmarks to ensure Tumakuru Industrial Area emerges as a leading destination for electronics, automotive, cleantech, and logistics investments.

The DPIIT-led delegation also visited major industrial sites, including:
- Foxconn Hon Hai Technology India Mega Development Pvt. Ltd.
- Devanahalli Aerospace Special Economic Zone (SEZ)
- Dynamatic Technologies, a premier aerospace component manufacturer
These visits offered valuable insights into India’s growing role in precision manufacturing and the global aerospace supply chain.
